Optical aids and low vision.
The SNAB Optical Aids Information Centres were opened in Olten in 1984 and are located in Lenzburg, Lausanne and Bellinzona. Their purpose is to ensure that visually impaired people of all ages are given correct information and professional advice as well as adapting optical aids to their requirements.
All of the SNAB centres can also provide information and advice on optical aids. Upon request, information is also available to opticians and ophthalmologists.
Activities of the SNAB low vision ventre:
- Training staff members and other professionals
- Developing teaching aids, documents and publications
- Carrying out "low vision" examinations
- Supporting professionals who work in the field of blindness
- Supplying information on low vision
- Giving advice on ideal lighting - particularly in nursing
