Who we are

The Swiss National Association of and for the Blind (SNAB) was established in 1903. Its main office and secretariat is located in St. Gallen (in the eastern part of Switzerland). It endeavours to give partially sighted, blind and deafblind people the opportunity to determine their own way of life.

The SNAB is the national umbrella organisation for 60 member organisations, which are all active in the field of blindness. As such, the SNAB coordinates all efforts on behalf of and for individuals affected by sight loss, promotes international contacts and spreads information. The SNAB provides information and direct aid to partially sighted, blind and/or deafblind people as well as to its member organisations, public and private institutions and to concerned members of the general public.
